We have an ongoing Declutter: What Have You Purged Today? thread and would love to have you join in there to share
@rnmom I am surprised you don't recognize my nick from there. I post about every 3 weeks or so after a really major cleanout. It's been attics and garage and clothing for years now, plus dishes left over from last move and immediate major health issues--so at least half of last move dumped in house here.
I haven't gone through drawers and small spaces in a while--so set myself this goal and thought others might enjoy it too. I didn't realize that was stepping on toes--for which I apologize
@Sooner - I thought that I recognized your name, I read every single post but really need to pay better attention to names, I'm sorry!
Of course you are not stepping on toes, I think your idea is awesome! You have actually got me to thinking what areas I can look at too!

I am way over 250 things to rid myself of---more like going near 1000, since I began my move last December, to the end of January, when I got to my new place----got rid of so much then and still to this day.

What if I take 250 days to get this done?

@rnmom Thanks for the sweet reply! I am tackling little but difficult things. And this is really helping me, beyond what I would have thought.
Not much really clutter but things I should not hang on to.

Saturday discovery day going through my jewelry. I was at it all day. I did sit aside some pieces I could sell with no problem, sorted out some things I especially like to wear, and put broken items (mostly earrings) in the sell pile. SO I can count those 7 pair toward my total. They will be sold. And found 3 silver spoons to sell with the earrings.
I did discard some empty boxes I had been saving, five, and now I do have a little room in the drawers from consolidating and getting rid of the empties. And I did find a number of pieces I'd "lost" in the mess.
You need to know that I have dreaded this for years. Faced it today and have a far better handle on it. So not much to let go of, but sorted and accessible!
I also got out a dress this morning that I had been avoiding wearing, found it comfortable and looks nice, so wore that all day--and it is a keeper.

@Sooner - I am glad that this is helping you, that is wonderful! I am going to go thru some stored items that I have not looked at in a while either, see if there is anything that can go. I will post my results here ![]()
I did put the last 8 magazines we had in the recycle bin and put the magazine holder in the basement to see if we miss it or I can get rid of it (it was in the bathroom). The couple of subscriptions we had expired and the magazines we had left were old and had already been looked at. It seems weird having the space open in the bathroom but also nice.
