@rnmom I am surprised you don't recognize my nick from there.  I post about every 3 weeks or so after a really major cleanout.  It's been attics and garage and clothing for years now, plus dishes left over from last move and immediate major health issues--so at least half of last move dumped in house here.

I haven't gone through drawers and small spaces in a while--so set myself this goal and  thought others might enjoy it too.  I didn't realize that was stepping on toes--for which I apologize

@kathie66 That's great.  It is sort of fun now, and I got 11 things from my nail polish/care drawer today, and found some a mostly used up bottle of lotion and one of facial cleanser stuck in the back there that went out!  I had NO idea they were there!  Woman Embarassed So that was a bonus! Woman Happy

There was an empty box I found in the closet, but that's just trash, so I don't count that.

Re: Home--250 Freedom Challenge

I did that in January.  31 items had to go.  I am not a fan of January so kept me busy.  February is tax time for me so I go through all my papers and files and get rid of what I don't need and shred.

I usually put a challenge out there for every month and helps keeps me motivated.  Good luck and not sure I could do that now.  I have done a lot of moving out and organizing so far this year.

I will be excited to hear how you are doing.  Everything counts.

@I am still oxox My challenge count from the first day included 3 new bras that didn't fit! I still have more to go through but it's a start!

3 books

14 nail polishes that came in a kit

1 Estee Lauder makeup bag (big one never used)

3 pairs of underwear taken out of the washed basket

4 half used face washes

and can't remember what else!  But about 40 items in all.

Stuff I've been hanging on to and now, already I'd have to go look to remember!!!!!  Piles I've dreaded dealing with!

Re: Home--250 Freedom Challenge

Today I got rid of some gummy vitamines I don't like and decided I am too old to take things I don't like every day to save a few bucks.

I went through a closet section I have avoided for years and got rid of 1 new land's end tshirt in a color I hate and took out four others to try on this week and evaluate, probably toss.

AND I have a night clothes drawer I avoid.  After I tugged and pulled and got it open Woman Embarassed I donaed 1 nightgown, threw away two others I loved but they really needed to go!  That is a big thing for me.  Now the drawer has a little space in it and I am going to wear better looking night ware.   Found some good summer jammies in there too!!!!

1 gummy big bottle vitamines

2 sad sad looking gowns trashed

1 gown donated

2 tshirts donated

In numbers, not a big deal but in my life a big difference and a start to do more in dreaded zones in my house.

@cjm61   I could not either.  I only buy as I need so there is not a lot of excess in my house and I pitch things as needed.

Re: Home--250 Freedom Challenge

I lost count of individual items, but cleaned out 1 drawer and 1 closet. Ended up with 2 garbage bags filled for the trash. And 1 bag to donate. A good start so far.

@rnmom I have many times, it is a great site.  But this isn't about purging.  It is about those little nests around the house that most of us have and ignore.  Or the things you haven't had the umph to deal with.  It's a specific number, and a goal, and not an ongoing thing.

Until July 4 to unload and look forward to freedom from some things.  Yesterday I cleared out the sock mess I have avoided.  I have another drawer in mind today.  And 250 is significant, so I'm having fun thinking and doing toward that goal.

In the last year, I've emptied our attic of things leftover from the last move, and it was ongoing and very difficult.  To me that is purging.  This is about short term fixing and freeing!

@Sooner - I see what you are saying. I will be following for ideas and inspiration!
