Terro traps worked very well for me this spring.   I put them in the cupboard where I found them after thoroughly cleaning .  They were all gone in three days and I have seen none since.  Takes time for the ants to take poison back to nest.

@FlowerBear   I wipe down the areas where they are with white vinegar  daily and within a few days they don't come back.

I use baby powder.  It's safe around kids and pets. Of course you don't want them to eat the powder but it works around where my dog eats.  They liked to get in her dish after she finished eating.  I agree ants are awful this year.

I had them around the baseboards in the kitchen of a second-floor apartment.  I put cucumber peelings all along the baseboards and it shoo’ed them away.  I kept the peelings there a couple of days and never saw the ants again.

I agree with Pook. I tried traps and the ants act like they weren't there. I purchased some white vinegar and wiped down the areas and I have no more ants.

You can use grits. They take it back to the nest and die.

I would think the apt owner is responsible for that.  I would see if they are willing to the the apt sprayed.

@FlowerBear   If you live in an apt, get maintenance to deal w/the ants.  It's their job not yours.

Home Defense for indoors odor free, and dries fast. You can also use outside. It does work when it comes to ants because I had them earlier this summer.
