I have had ants around on the floors in my apt this week and not sure how to get rid of them. I am always making sure no crumbs are on the floor. I tried cinnamon sprinkled but they seemed to like it and it didnt repel at all.  Do you have any ideas that work to get rid of ants?

@FlowerBear

I never had a problem with ants until this past Spring. ( found some of those tiny sugar ants around my kitchen sink). This is what was recommeded to me and it worked.

@FlowerBear

I can tell what NOT to try: ant traps!

When we have a lot of rain and the ground is really saturated, we get tiny little ants invading the house.

I bought some ant traps and watched the little buggers walked all over and in them, with no effect.

I also tried 'sugary traps' as suggested on line.....nope!

I finally learned to keep my 409/Fantastik on the counter and when I spray them, they die immediately and wipe away with a paper towel.

At least they walk in a straight line and that makes it easy to spray one line at a time, LOL!

Once our ground dries out a bit, they go away, ants don't like water.

Good luck with yours!

Once you've determined where they're coming from, get some caulk or wood putty and plug the hole then get the vacuum to use on the ones stuck inside.

I use these bait traps too.  They go in, eat, and leave and die.  They work for me.

Another vote for traps.  I use them every spring, when the ants come in.

 We have always used AMDRO ant block granules. You sprinkle it on the outside perimeter of your house. It always works great! Its available at Amazon, Home Depot, etc.

We also use Amdro ant block granules sprinkled around the perimeter of the house (sprinkle it next to the foundation). It’s worked great for us too - stops them before they come in.   But since you say you live in an apartment could you contact your landlord and maybe they could hire a company to treat the outside perimeter of the building?
