Did you sand and clean off before you put the first coat on so you started with a smooth surface?  I always sand bare wood and clean prior to any finishes being applied.  Also, be sure you used the right finish so you have the sheen you want.  If you purchased SW they are great at giving you adivice.

@Abrowneyegirl  Not sure if this is an iterior door or exterior. After resanding , you may want to try a semidgloss paint if you are looking for a higher sheen.
