Is it my imagination or is that a bird on the tree branch in front of the feeders?  It's probably thinking "What the heck!?  Leave some for me!"

@We rescue cats Oh my! I fear you have a regular customer. But on the upside, those are great photos.

@Venezia -Yep It is a bird in the tree!

@On It  - he's been around a few times at night, I've smelled him. But we bring the feeders in at night so he's leaving here hungry! I guess he figured it out! LOL!

Texted the pics to DH today and he just laughed...said rescue the feeders!! I didn't ... the sunflower seed feeder is history, but he was gentle with the suet cake.

@We rescue cats

There is a saying "a fed bear is a dead bear".  Where I live we don't leave feeders out this time of year.

If you want him around that's nice but you are teaching him bad habits.  And if he moves to someone else's yard they might not be so nice.

I know people mean well,  but bears should not be in people's yards scrounging for food.  Before you know it, they break into some houses and can become a major problem.

We live in a suburb in CT, where our town has issued an ordinance against folks leaving bird feeders out from spring until fall weather.  No trash to be left out, either.  If bears are found out in public, they are given a tranquilizer and relocated into a forest area.  If they threaten anyone or break into a house (yes it has happened) they are euthanized.  Gladly, we have no bear hunts here. You may want to google bears in Ct for more information.  This has been quite a problem.

If you happen to see a bear, you should slowly walk away.  If someone runs, the bear will chase, mistaking you for prey.

I don't want to sound like a shrew, but some bears can be dangerous - particularly a momma bear with her cubs.  "There are stories....

Bears scare the heck out of me.  I've never been to our son's place in the Poconos, my fear is so bad.  They can break into some houses, easily.

We have had bears here several times in the 24 years we've lived here, but usually it is at night.I wonder if the dry weather is bringing him around more that usual. Several years ago a bear cleared out my koi pond and broke my heart...we had several Japanese koi that we had imported from Japan that ended up as a meal. We live in a rural area in the Laurel Mountains, we treat all wildlife with great respect but thank you for your warnings,I appreciate them.
