I just learned about it from my DSIL when she wanted to sell a house.  Don't want to attach any religious labels on here, but I'm curious about how many other people have tried this approach to sell a home.

The only "statue" I've used or would consider using is:  House for Sale.

Yes.  I borrowed my mothers.  She had used it to sell a house when my parents retired and then sell a house after my father passed away.  I didn't put in my front yard, I "lightly buried it" under some pine bark by my favorite rose bush.  My Mom told me to "keep it out of sight."  My Mother sold both her homes in a very short amount of time.  I sold mine in 3 days.

@ScrapHappy  Yes, you are supposed to lightly bury it.  It was given to us years ago by my SIL who told me how to use it.  I'm not regligious, but I used it for the last 3 houses we sold (with excellent results).  My feeling is that we probably would have been fine without it  Use it or don't, there's no reason to slam anyone for doing so.

I don't know what you are talking about, but doesn't strike me as a religious activity.  At least not for my branch of religious activity.  Sounds like a superstition, but that's me.

I don't know what kind of statue you mean either. Never heard of that. The only signs allowed in my neighborhood are "House for Sale."

What does the statue look like?

It's a St.Joesph statue, it can be used to sell your home by burying it & also bless a new home. I know several people that used it & funny to see this question because I was thinking of sending one to a friend that's having trouble selling her home in FL. It's pretty common, don't know why anyone would get upset about it.

OMG you brought back memories for me.  When we were having trouble selling our first home, back in 1991, our realtor suggested putting a statue in the ground.  I don't remember if she brought it, or I went to buy it.  I think I actually went to that certain religion's store and bought it.  Anyway, I had to bury it in the corner of the yard, upside down or something silly.  Our house eventually sold, buy not any sooner due to the statue.  I think I might have left it there because I don't know what happened to it.  I think it was nonsense and that is why it most likely did not work for us.
