Have you bought a Christmas tree from QVC in the last few years? Opinions...

With Christmas in July coming up, I'm thinking about a new tree.... My current tree was purchased from QVC probably close to 10 years ago. It's a beautiful 6 footer with colored lights that can be made to blink/chase in several different ways. Sadly, it is dying and the lights are going out on it.......... and a couple of the branches are broke.....

I watched last year but nothing I saw looked comparable - yea, I know, nothing is comparable to 10 year old quality - but just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or words of caution about trees they recently purchased from QVC...

Or recommendations from elsewhere if you have them!!{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Thanks!!

I purchased the Bethlehem Lights 6.5 ft. balsam fir tree with clear LED lights in 2012. It is a beautiful tree, and we enjoyed looking at it so much, we left the tree, decorations and all, in the corner of the living room through 2013. At least once a week, we turned the tree on and enjoyed the glow, which we never tired of. Despite mixed emotions, I did take the tree down in early January of this year, but truly miss seeing it every single day. The 6.5 ft is the perfect height, and this tree was the perfect size for the corner; not too full, or too skinny---simply perfect for our needs. I have never had an artificial tree that satisfied my family as much as this tree. The LED lights glow brightly, and it is a beautiful tree when lit, and decorated. Absolutely one of my best purchases from QVC.

About 10 years ago we bought a beautiful full tree that had the option of white lights, color lights, or both at the same time. It had about 1700 lights on it!! Several of the light strands are not working now, wish the Q would have this tree again. It was really a great tree and a reasonable price.

The lights went out on our tree too but rather than get rid of the tree we removed the lights . Now I have to put lights on the tree every year but it sure is cheaper than a new pre-lit tree. It wasn't fun removing the light strings because they were wired on the branches. It took me a few days and a wire cutter to get done. It was worth it because I really like the tree!

I bough the clear flocked 7.5 option of H197978 with intentions to use it with adding my own colored lights as well. I put it up last year and it is beautiful. I bought this tree mainly for the look of he flocked as it is gorgeous so if the lights go out, I will just add my own.

I've seen so many comments and reviews about problems with the BL trees sold on QVC -- lights that don't work, don't last. I'd be more than a little disappointed if I paid those prices for a "permanent" tree and the lights went out after a year or two!

A number of years back.....2005/06, I bought BL 3' plug in tree. At that time they offered two trees/box either white or multicolored lights for about $40.....or less. I don't remember. Anyway.....I have two sets, one set in white, one in multicolored lights. I still use them to this day.....and they are really pretty. I use them in our bedroom, den and kitchen and our entry hall. They continue to light each year.....LOL.

On the other hand, I would be hesitant to purchase a large tree from the Q, because of the inconsistency of the reviews on the majority of the large trees. The thought of boxing up a defective tree for shipment back to the Q......my DH would have a fit....LOL. I would suggest looking locally in your area.......you can see the trees first hand, and, if there is an issue, it would be easier taking the tree back to the store, then to pack it up for shipment back to the Q. Of course, that is JMHO.

We are in need of a new tree, but we are in the process of getting our home ready for sale....and will be looking for a new tree come next year.

Many years ago, I purchased an artificial tree from QVC. I never liked it, but didn't feel like sending it back.

I think it's better to buy items like this from a store, where you can actually see what they look like. TV can be deceiving.

I know ours (post #2) was not a Bethlehem Lights tree.

I bought the same tree that poster #2 did years ago. Part of mine did not work. Sent it back(ups picked it up). It did not turn me off from wanting to order another one from the Q. Used my old one that year. Then ordered one that had a few light that would just fade in and out. LOVE it. I know a lot of people bash the trees sold here, but I have to say that I work at the big box store that begin with T and we get more than a few returns every christmas. Now if every store had the same issue as ours then I am sure the total of that would so out number the Q. I will continue to order here.
