My sister-in-law and her hubby live in Harpswell, ME, a seaside town about 30 min north of Portland, they have a beautiful two-story home right on the cove.  We love visiting them when we can.

Cute house!  I love the garage doors and the cabana by the pool!

Re: HOUSE IN MAINE

[ Edited ]

Pretty new build with appealing architectural details and some attractive interior elements. Mixed feelings about the kitchen cabinetry, and the full size exterior flag pole smack in the middle of the circular drive needs to go. A bit overwhelming and looks like it belongs at a summer camp or government building.

Great comment, @stevieb .  I wondered what the one thing about that courtyard area was, that kind of bugged me.  I'd like the flag displayed in one of the porch areas so much better--  as you say, less of an institutional look...

The moose antler on the kitchen island is just a big NO to me.

Low ceilings make me uncomfortable.   Has a nice layout and many expensive finishes with cabinetry and such.

Oh no, not a 5-pillow sofa.   The classic sign of over-decoration.

This is so large and so expensive that I really can't give it the label of "home".  It's more like a vacation mansion to me.

Hugely out of price range forf most people.

I agree about the exterior design

I think what is the front door is overwhelmed by the more obvious second front entrance, back by the garage.   That really bugs me for such an expensive place.

I get that it is trying to look older and more casual but the front entrance almost looks as if there is a shop there and the real entrance for the family is the one closer to the garage.

Is that slate roof or are they just really expensive composite shingles?
