I love brick and stone in a kitchen.

The cabinets are way too high for me, the drapes would have to go, and some stuff would have to be removed for me to make this a functional place for me to cook.

Not bad.  Except for the drapes, the cr@p stuck to the cabinets and that light fixture.

I think that "cabinet" you are referring to is the refrigerator. You can tell by the vents at the very bottom.  Probably why there are children's pictures etc. tacked on. BTW I think it's a terrible place for the refrigerator.

@We rescue cats,  I love it when just the sight of a picture can bring back such precious memories as those that you have-  thanks for sharing that.  There's something about that picture that stirs emotions for me too, not sure why.

Ah, yes, so it is.  I might have noticed that if I hadn't been so distracted by the cr@p on it. Woman Wink

I would break my neck trying to get to those high cabinets.

I think it is a charming kitchen, full of homey and a place where children come home to after school, looking for cookies and mik.  No, we don't all like the same things.  I would not want this for myself, but I would like to visit a kitchen like that because it looks warm and inviting.

Pretty and exudes warmth. A few things I'd change. Would have to see more to know if the set-up is conducive to being a working kitchen.
