HGTV Sponsor question

Has anyone noticed lately that many of the HGTV hosts seem to be selling products on their shows? I watched the High-Low Project tonight and was amazed at how many items came from Target. I know the host is a spokesperson for Target, but why hit us over the head with it. Also, the new yardcrasher, Matt something, seems to be always selling or using Scotts outdoor products. In the past, when I watched the crasher programs, they would turn bags or boxes around so you couldn't see what brand they were using. Is this new or has it been going on for awhile?
