HELP WITH PAINTING!!!

I need to get a paint job asap!! We did some construction on a wall in our living room. Our walls are painted with a glaze. I dont' know if I'll get the room painted in time. Do you think it would be okay if I painted the one wall a solid color and left the other walls with the glazed look? This is the wall you will see when you first walk in the house. It is the wall with the entrance way to the rest of the house. I was thinking of painting it a darker golden shade to off set the rest of the room.
