Yes, the bed is in beautiful condition EXCEPT for a few kitty claw scratches on the footboard and posts.  As I mentioned, the reason I moved it out of the big house and into our B&B was because my kitties decided those tall posts were there for them to scratch.  That's when I had a houseful of beautifully unruly felines...now all dearly departed.

 

If you have cats, you know that once they start in, it is difficult to stop them from scratching.  So, before the bed was damaged, I decided it was better for our guests to enjoy a majestic bed.  Although the one I bought as a replacement had very tall posts, too.

 

While I love Annie's chalk paints, I would never have done it to this bed.  The wood was too nice and it was just too much to cover.

 

We have mostly very old pieces that are mahogany, but I cannot bring myself to cover them with paint.  I just enjoy their "oldness" with all it's flaws.

 

I've never heard of Bramble Co. and will look it up.  Even though my furniture buying days are over, it never hurts to look.
