Do you still use your "good" china?  I have 2 sets of my own and a set from my parents.  I use them for "special" occasions but now I am thinking to start using them much more often since my kids are not at all interested...

No, I gave my fine China away.  I didn't use it or need it.  I have nice stoneware and attractive accessories to go with it.

Hi, @bargainsgirl !  We use our good china as our everyday dishes.  I love the pattern (Royal Doulton Eastbrook). As the saying goes...life's too short, plus we dont entertain now like we used to.  Using the china makes every meal a little special.

I lived in Southern California.  Bought Corelle, and it survived a couple quakes....

I gave my chine (originally my mother's) to my niece a few years ago. I used it a couple of times in the 30 years that I had it--don't miss it at all. It had to be hand-washed because of the gold trim, just too much of a pain.

I have Corelle dishes now, and they are all I use (unless I use paper plates).

No sadly I have my mom's as well as my own and though it's lovely I don't want the bother. No one in the family wants it or I would give it away. I rarely even use my Franciscan Apple pattern.I end up using my mom's everyday Pfaltzgraff plain white dishes, they go with everything. Once in a while I take out a cup and saucer of mom's fancy China and have a cup of tea , it tastes better and takes me back to better times with mom.

I have a lot of it I have inherited and have bought myself.  Of course I use it.  It is beautiful, we love it and we use it.

And flatware, and nice glasses, etc.  Linens.  Use it.  Put modern china in the dishwasher (maybe without soap if it isn't really greasy or dirty).

I never owned any good China.  I collect dinnerware, so I have a few sets of everyday dishes and I use it all.

When my parents passed, my brother took the China.  When he passed, his oldest son took it.  I have had dinners at my nephew's house and his wife serves family with my mother's china.  It makes me happy that it is still in use.  My mother never met my nephew's wife, but she is a lovely person.  I know my mother would approve.

I have quite a collection of 100% white serving pieces and colorful platters from all over the world.  Everytime I visited a new country, I bought a platter.  My platters are all handmade.

I have 3 different sets of Temp-tations for different times of the year.  Lenox Christmas and Old Country Roses for Thanksgiving.  I love all the different china or dishware.  I use the Lenox for the whole Christmas season, but the Old Country Roses I don't use that much.  But I do love my red Doodle Do from Temp-tations.

I use my good china frequently for little "special dinners" for me and my husband.  We set the table with nice flatware and use the Waterford crystal glasses.  I set up candles and go the distance with the fancy stuff.  Just for us and just because we can do it.  My mother didn't have fine china and I bought mine in the late 70's.  I am committed to using what I have while I can.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.
