It's gorgeous, but with these, I always wonder what it will look like in reality.

 

After the squirrels, birds and chipmunks and who knows what else visit, in addition to the rain that blows in.  I just don't think it's practical.  And really difficult to keep looking like that and clean.


Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I love the look and idea of an outdoor space, but, like you, I also wonder how people keep these spaces looking nice.

It might in an area of the country that doesn't have all four seasons of weather. I would go ahead and tidy it when needed. Very worth it to enjoy that outdoor living.
