I like the countertop.

Too many patterns, details, and textures for me. I'd replace the blue patterned tile with the a solid neutral color. I'd prefer a solid backsplash and a darker solid counter to offset all the cream.

I don't love it but don't hate it either. Obviously high end materials across the board. I would keep it. Mixed feelings here...

That would give me a migraine.  LOL  Individually everything might be okay but together, no.  And I am way over those types of cabinets.

Re: Gigantic Cream Kitchen, Many Finishes

I am a fan of creamy white or shaded white kitchens but not this one.  This looks like a remodel gone wrong and there are too many changes I would make to list them all.  If choosing a stone countertop with a lot of movement I would minimize other textures and patterns.  In this kitchen as an example I wouldn't glaze the cabinets which has drawn attention to every single line.  I would use the same material for the backsplash as the countertop.

The worst part to me is the dropped ceiling which must have been centered over something before the remodel, the lighting placement within the ceiling doesn't make sense. It would have been better to remove the dropped ceiling and redo the lighting placement.  The dropped ceiling (not to mention the treatment they gave it) weighs the kitchen down too much for me.

If you make that kitchen smaller and take out the extra stuff that would be my kitchen (and wall color) except our cabinets are dark.

I contemplate painting them, but then dread chipping paint.

No, light doesn't always work to make something spacious.  In fact white comes forward and dark colors recede.  A lot depends on how much lighting you have.

BTW, when people here mention DIZZY, this below is what is dizzifying to me.  I think it's an overused term here when people mean "busy" or "too many patterns" or "not my taste."

I like the colors, but what I like most is the placement of the kitchen.  You have only short trips to both the breakfast/daily meals area and the more formal dining room.  If we ever build another house I will incorporate this idea.

@depglass We had a bigger more traditional kitchen in our last house that was just the way I wanted it!  But this smaller one is very very efficient in where the sink, cooktop, fridge and ovens are, and we both enjoy cooking a lot!

Re: Gigantic Cream Kitchen, Many Finishes

It looks like they just simply did too much and I think the biggest problem is the kitchen is too big. I actually like the countertop, and pretty much nothing else.
