Re: Gigantic Cream Kitchen, Many Finishes

For me, there are far too many textures and patterns here that don't make for a nice peaceful kitchen.  For starters, I'd eliminate that extremely busy marble and use a quartz countertop with tiny specs of color or sparkle.  That would help it a lot.

I like the colors, but what I like most is the placement of the kitchen.  You have only short trips to both the breakfast/daily meals area and the more formal dining room.  If we ever build another house I will incorporate this idea.

The granite and the backsplash don't compliment each other.  Too busy.  One should be a solid.  The blue, I think it' blue, ceramic looking tile on one side of the second island also doesn't compliment  For such a large kitchen, the two island seem small.  The second one can only fit 4 chairs?  The ceiling where the lighting is is too much also.  A lot going on here.  For such a large space I would of done 1 very large island.  Things don't look to scale.

Overall I like the kitchen a lot. I don't care for the mix of textures. I would eliminate the zig zag backsplash & extend the marble. I would also do away with the ceiling tiles surrounding the lights & do away with the Moroccan blue tiles on the base of the breakfast counter.

I don't think the blue/white pattern on the counter to the left works in this kitchen.  Although, I think black accents would look nice, the black top over the blue/white pattern doesn't.

Other than that the kitchen is very nice.

@lolakimono  In this one, my eye doesn't seem to know where to go.  While I like the finishes there are just way too many of them for my taste. Not only that.....they are mismatched.  The answer to "does any one thing stand out" would have to be, NO. I found myself looking at each thing separately and not as a whole.

There are some beautiful elements but put all together that kitchen would give me a headache.

I'm not a big fan of this kitchen.  It's not terrible but there are so  many things I would have done differently.  I don't care for most of the choices the owner has made.

@lolakimono   I'm DIZZY ...  way too busy for my taste and I'm not a fan of the patterns and finishes put together here.   Love the space just not the kitchen itself.
