Garbage Bags That Don't Leak

Has any one used a truly leak-proof garbage bag? Some are advertised as being leak proof.  I need to dispose of some things that are going to leak liquids so I need to buy some garbage bags that really won't leak. Has anyone personally used some? If so which ones?

(If they are Glad or Hefty or another kind I need to know specifically what they are called on the package).

I have these and never had a problem.   I would double bag it if there is a lot of liquid.

Re: Garbage Bags That Don't Leak

I have a Simple Human trash can and use their liners.  They are made specifically for the brand but will fit a regular trash can.  I've been using this system for 10 years and have never had a leak, ever.  It's a little pricey but worth every penny in my eyes, I'm kind of a freak about smelly, messy trash........and lose sleep when it's a holiday week, in my area that delays trash pick up by a day, LOL!

@Meowingkitty  Have you had experience putting liquids in them and they don't leak?  That's what I'm after and I can't tell from your response if they don't leak.

@Meowingkitty  I also use the Kirkland kitchen bags from Costco. I was looking for a photo, but I can't find one. They are great and such a good price!

@Pearlee  When I have something that is particularly juicy or "liquidy," I put it into a plastic grocery bag first and tie it tightly; then I put that into the trash bag.

I use Hefty Ultra Strong, 13 gal. size.  I have not had any leaks and been using them for years.

Why dont you pour the liquid down the sink?

Re: Garbage Bags That Don't Leak

I can't imagine what type of liquids you would put in a garbage bag.

Chemicals like paint and cleaning fluids shouldn't be put into the garbage.  These chemicals don't belong in a landfill.  You need to find out where in your community you can take these types of chemicals for disposal.

If you are cleaning out a refrigerator, you can flush food liquids down your toilet or pour into your garden compost and dispose the solids into the garbage or compost.

I have never had a garbage bag leak.  I use major brands and store brands without a problem.  Occasionally, I have to double bag especially when I am canning food and have a lot of skins, seeds and pulp to dispose of.  I have no where to compost, or I would do that.

I use whatever is on sale from any store.

Unless you are poking a hole in it, how are your trash bags leaking.  I've never had a problem with them leaking.

@Imaoldhippie  Thanks for your Hefty suggestion. I have my reasons for not wanting to pour down the sink.
