Garage / Tag Sales - - your thoughts?

This is the season for garage / tag sales around the neighborhood.

Needed to clear the don’t need or never used stuff - - - absolutely not junk at all, usable to someone else, some boxed, never opened, complimented by several customers that we had a rather large, organized sale. - - you get the picture.

Some folks were very good and paid reasonable negotiated price. They were happy, we were happy that the items were now going to a good home and appreciated.

But what floored us was a carload of one family who were very insistent to pay “a dollar” for any item they touched, despite the value and the great condition.

One woman from this group came real close, invaded my personal space. Not wanting to be confrontational with her, I agreed to her “one dollar” for a very nice supermarket tote. A man from this group wanted to pay 25 cents for a fine men’s leather belt. Said sorry, no and he disgustingly threw it back in the pile. They walked away with several “dollar” purchases. They opened every - - really mean - - every - - boxed item and leaving a mess on the tables. They probably skip-a-loo to their car to make their rounds of garage sales in the neighborhood.

Knowing the purpose of garage sale was to sadly part with the items either by selling or later donating to charity.

But why do I feel so cheated from these people? Really kicking myself. Anybody share the same experience and feeling?
