Anyone shopping for furniture lately?  I've been watching a sofa and 2 chair set at a local furniture store for some time now.  When I first saw it, it was on sale ($100 off sofa and $50 of each chair).  That sale ended and the sale now, which I'm told is the Labor Day sale...the sofa and chairs are back to original price but if your purchase falls between a "this amount" deal....you get "x" amount off.  But in the end, it's the same...$200.  So, different sales but the final prices always come out the same.  Has anyone come across this?  Is this the norm now?  I'd really like to get the this but at a better price.

Oh yeah!  Seen it and made fun of it.  We have a furniture store here that is perpetually "on sale".  Pricing is about the same day in and day out.  Keep on top of it and track your favorite couch.  Maybe even get the specifications for it so you can look for it on line (maybe from the manufacturer), see what the recommended retail is.... just a suggestion.  You may find it cheaper elsewhere.  Good luck Woman Happy

We bought a home and bought all new furniture on July 3rd. We received half of it last week, the other half will come in September. It seems like the demand for furniture is increasing! With that demand, we were happy just to get furniture, and the price points weren't too bad.

Traditional furniture stores seem to be adopting Kohl's pricing. If you don't like today's sale price, stop back tomorrow for the new sale price.

Which isn't much different than the last sale price.

When shopping for a sofa about thirty years ago, I was focused on buying a La-Z-Boy, so haunted the store for awhile.

I noticed that their recliners were "sale priced" at $399.99. A week later they had a GIGANTIC SALE, and offered them at 2 for $800.

LOL!

If you talk to the sales people at the store and let them know you are very interested in buying, they sometimes will work out a deal with you. They want to sell just as much as you want to buy! It's worth a try at least!
