I actually don't mind it.  Mirrors are used for a lot of reasons; sometimes just to reflect light.  I don't love it, but neither do I hate it.

Agreed, @wilma , don't like the mirror.  The architecture of the room feels very unbalanced to me, and I think that's throwing me off...

I don't care for the mirror at all.  In fact, I really don't care for the room either.

To me, that mirror looks out of place where it is. I don't think I would like it being the first thing one sees.  It confuses me. Of course, these days that's not hard to do!!!

@wilma  I think that mirror fits perfectly in the room and the decor. You know, the more I look at this room, the more I like it. I'm not going to try to replicate it, but it's okay.

Re: Focal Point Mirror

[ Edited ]

I like the fireplace and the bones of the room...BUT I do NOT like the mirror nor the rug...and I have a problem with the patterned chairs too......I think a solid color would be better..... And @wilma  I agree that chest of drawers next to the fireplace has got to go, takes away from the fireplace, looks odd.....

Oh my, no.  Don't like the mirror, rug and the two chairs.  Otherwise I like the room.

Regarding the fireplace, I think they were trying to remedy the off-center placement on the wall.

Hate the mirror and I agree with everything you said about the room!

Are we sure that's a mirror?  The reflection is off-color of the ivory colored walls.

Seems more like, perhaps, a silk screen or the like, that plays off the rug color, chair upholstery and couch pillows.  All of which I like.

I just don't like the room itself.  The bare windows, the fireplace, the inset shelving, the upper hall and railing.

I'd keep the furniture and ditch the house.Woman LOL
