My house came with a tankless water heater that needs to be flushed. I ordered everything I needed from Home Depot. The hoses I ordered (the brand is Everbuilt) were awful. I set everything up and then plugged the pump in. Immediately vinegar sprayed everywhere. I obviously need better hoses. For those of you that have a tankless water heater, what brand of hoses do you use?

No, I don't have a tankless hotwater heater but did you get your hose connections tight enough? Maybe it's not the hoses. If this is too much for you, it may be better to call a plumber or other maintenance person to handle this. Sorry I wasn't any help.

My newer home also has a tankless hot water heater. I looked at the DIY flushing procedure online, and decided to have the professionals do it.
they're coming tomorrow. On its own, I'd pay $159 for this service but will get 20% knocked off since they'll also do my furnace maintenance. Worth it, to me!

@PinkyPetunia They were on nice and tight. When I went back to the Home Depot website and read the negative reviews, I noticed some people said the hoses leak.

We have one and I despise it. We have been talking about who to call. Our plumber retired! The nerve! ![]()

@Sooner I thought I was the only one who disliked tankless water heaters. I always see people raving about them. I would love to have a regular hot water heater.

i believe you can have your tankless water heater converted to a regular water heater if you'd like. I love my tankless water heater because I never run out of hot water no matter how long I shower, then run the dish washer, then do laundry. The only thing I don't like is the 10-20 seconds or so I have to wait for the water to turn hot when I wash my hands after going to the bathroom. Small price to pay for me.

@Justholdingon We have longer runs on our system and it takes forever to get hot water to my sink in our bathroom. But then I don't like the idea of 80 gallons of hot water in the attic either--so no good choice in this house.
Before we mved our last house had circulators so we had instant hot water anywhere.

Just a suggestion but do you have a real old skool hardware store nearby? Ace, True Value, etc?
I find their advice is invaluable if you stop in. Much better than HD or Lowe's.
Many have contractor referral desks and will recommed someone reliable if you need a pro.
