Susan Louise - please tell me about the Jim shore cat. Is it a "garden" cat? What is it's name? I bought one of his garden critters once, and it was full of pits, holes, and dark marks. Your cat looks great!

Hi Mousiegirl,

Check my post #25 in this thread...should help some Smile

Yes, I was just going to post that I saw that, but I have a question. I saw that cat on ebay, and asked the seller several questions regarding marks, etc. Does your cat have any unsightly marks or is it as pristine as Jim's usual Heartwood Creek items? I bought a garden item once, and it was so full of marks, pits, and holes, that I had to return it.

I viewed the pic of that cat again on EBay...even put my mouse over the pic for the "zoom in" feature too and I didn't see any problems...looks fine/normal/pristine to me. How many JS pieces do you have? I have about 20 and they all have a weathered/worn look to them.

I took a pic of ours so you can see for yourself. Ours has never been outside and looks exactly as the day I bought it about 6 yrs ago...

Thank you, Susan Louise, your cat looks pristine, but the ebay cat has black marks on the face, and when I asked the seller about marks, pits, holes, she said "no additional" which tells me it has some. Also, the tail on that cat is close to the body, I think, unless I have already forgotten, and my cat tails look like your cat's tail. I have lots of Jim shore, mostly Christmas and cats. I have two garden cats and they are pristine, and am looking for the grey tabby, I think it is. Someone here posted a picture of it last Fall. I don't know how many garden cats Jim produced.

Thanks for sharing. I love the cat and clock. I'm not quite in the mood to start decorating for spring with more snow and another polar vortex on the way.

Lovely. As the old saying goes... one picture is worth a thousand words. I see you have the bird lamp that I just got this week from a lunchtime special. I'm still looking for a place to display it. Your decor is beautiful.

Thanks! You can get the tablecloth at Terry's Village dot com...it's item #IN-91/375. It's a round crocheted doily table topper...

I folded it so it is left askew so it looks like two layers

For me, decorating early helps me in so many ways. To start, it certainly lifts my mood out of the winter doldrums. Additionally, as I mentioned in an earlier post (#31), I have so many other things to do over the next couple of months. It makes it easier to do it now so I can concentrate on other things.

It's also no different than other holiday decorating...say during the Christmas holiday season. Some folks start putting stuff up right after Halloween...others about Thanksgiving time...and others as late as Christmas Eve and take it down the day after Christmas.

We all decorate on our own schedules and by what makes us and our family happy Smile
