Well, we still have cold days here...low 30's for the days and going down in the single digits at night for about the next week.
I like getting an early start since I have so many other things to do over the next month. After cleaning and purging I decorated. Now I can focus on gardening...sowing seeds indoors, planning on what I'll be planting and slowly getting rid of the debris out of the gardens on the warmer days.
Also in about 2-3 weeks, we'll start feeding our family of Robins mealworms again. The males have just arrived on schedule and are in territorial dispute mode...LOL The females will be here in a couple of weeks...can't wait! We feed 5 mated pairs and with their broods, and having them bring their fledglings, it is quite busy here. DH picks up the slack while I'm planting. Many nights I'm gardening at night by lanterns too...why? We have no trees, so no shade. It's also cooler, peaceful too...
In a couple of weeks DH and I will be taking a trip out by Kearney, NE...about 120 miles west, and watch the Sandhill Cranes migrating through...LOVE the migration periods and seeing all the birds I missed!!!

Very nice! I'm so glad to be able to see how affective the spheres can be. Really pretty! Thanks for the pics, Susan Louise. You did a fantastic job with your spring decorating.

Hello Susan Louise...
Thank you for sharing all your lovely pictures....you did such a wonderful job on your spring / easter decorating. And since Easter comes so late this year , you will have many months to enjoy it all. Thanks again for sharing.

Hi Bobby K,
Thanks! I will be keeping all of the decor I have up now (except the pair of bunnies...which I will take down the day after Easter...and just the Forsythia twigs about a month later) until I start decorating for Fall in mid August. I don't decorate for Valentine's Day or St Patty's Day, That's another reason why I used the decor pieces I did...they can be enjoyed from early Spring through the Summer too. I will, however, bring out a few accents pieces for 4th of July for our coffee table, but that's it

Susan Louise - please tell me about the Jim shore cat. Is it a "garden" cat? What is it's name? I bought one of his garden critters once, and it was full of pits, holes, and dark marks. Your cat looks great!

Yes, I was just going to post that I saw that, but I have a question. I saw that cat on ebay, and asked the seller several questions regarding marks, etc. Does your cat have any unsightly marks or is it as pristine as Jim's usual Heartwood Creek items? I bought a garden item once, and it was so full of marks, pits, and holes, that I had to return it.

I viewed the pic of that cat again on EBay...even put my mouse over the pic for the "zoom in" feature too and I didn't see any problems...looks fine/normal/pristine to me. How many JS pieces do you have? I have about 20 and they all have a weathered/worn look to them.
I took a pic of ours so you can see for yourself. Ours has never been outside and looks exactly as the day I bought it about 6 yrs ago...

Very lovely. Thank you for sharing your pictures and for giving the item numbers. It's very helpful.
I love the silver pedestals and the spheres. I've loved the blue ones from the very first day they were presented but I just haven't bought them yet.
Your home looks very cheerful.
