Some of you might remember Dr. Nancy Snyderman from her work on NBC and the story of her resignation due to breaking a self-inflicted Ebola quaratine during the Ebola scare.  This home was just down the road from where I live. It was a famous work of archetict and artist named Micheal Graves and very unique.

This was the home of Dr. Nancy Snyderman as a young girl. She was two years behind me at the same high school.

This home was designed by artist and architect Micheal Graves and was  held in high esteem of his designs which were very unique.  It was so sad to see it in ashes. I tried to "study" it everytime we drove by over the years. Definitely a house that gets ones attention.

@jubilant It looks too much like the office I had.  Thanks for posting the photos!  Interesting house and story.

I like modern, so this is nice. I have seen designs I like better. I prefer less curves, and balconies.

So it accidentally burned down? That is terrible. I'm sure it was worth a lot.

So unique and beautiful.  @jubilant What happened?  An accidentally fire?  Purposeful destruction?

Interesting story. I love the setting. The windows & balconies offer beautiful views, but it is way too modern for me. Sorry to hear about the fire.

@jubilant    Didn't Michael Graves design a line of small appliances or home decor for Target at one time?

We have a similar house in my area.  It really doesn't fit in with our typical pueblo-style architecture.

What a fascinating house.  I'm so sorry it burned.  We had a somewhat similar house in our town, @jubilant ,  that had that kind of linear, modernist, "Bauhaus" feeling.  I was fascinated by it as a child, and always begged my Dad to drive by it when we were in that part of town!

I love a good modern style home and love this one.  I'd also like to know the cause of the fire.

@shoptilyadropagain The Snyderman House burned to the ground on July 30, 2002, as the result of suspected arson. After living in the home for 25 years, the Snydermans had sold the house in 1999 to local developers Joseph Sullivan and William Swift, who planned to tear it down as part of a large housing development.
