I bought 3 sets at Pier One and the additional remote.

Traveler, did you buy them recently? The remote is very appealing.

Also, do you remember the price of the lights?

I got some at the Q outlet. I use them in many ways. Right now I have a strand in two different cloches with fall scenes. They also sparkle beautifully in anything that is mercury glass, or cut glass. They are so unobtrusive that they are almost invisible in the day time but look lovely at night when lit.

Hey whitelinen! I have some of these from Pier 1. I actually bought 4 sets, 2 sets in white and 2 sets in amber. They also come in red and also some different shapes and lengths. I prefer the amber as the white to me is way too bright. Two out of the 4 sets is going back as they seem to be defective. They do have a timer and you can also purchase the remote. Overall I like them but can't speak to battery life yet. Just search at Pier 1 under "Glimmer Strings".

I buy mine from LightsForAllOccasions. Great selection, with or without timers in every shape, color, size & length.

Hi mallemo! Good to see you!! I did take a look at the P1 lights online but I'm battery shy as of late. Spent a lot on batteries the past year feeding the greedy decs around my house.

Thought I would try a few electric fairy lights. DD has them, and likes them a lot.

How is your

Christmas decorating going? What are your plans this year????

I have not pulled anything out yet. My living room is barren; cleared it out and I'm waiting for some furniture I purchased from a neighbor who is moving. Don't think I will be putting anything in it this year. ~~sob~~

I understand your battery issue. I agree! With working now I don't find nearly as much time to do the fun things so I'm for sure behind. I hope to start decorating right after Thanksgiving.

I had no idea what 'fairy lights' were but after reading this thread, I'm off to Pier 1 to pick some up, for myself and a couple for gifts. They look so pretty on their website, I'm planning on using them year round. I just have to decide which length would be best! I'm thinking the 10 ft. size.

I bought 3 of the 10 ft. length in amber, 2 for gifts and 1 for me. I love these little lights. I ran one string along my mantel and they look beautiful!

Forget about these glimmer strings from pier 1...they eat batteries up like crazy! Mine all went back to the store.
