Love this lunch that she helped a friend "Dody" do, in Dody's own storybook cottage, that was included in "The Collected Tabletop".

Note the delicate glass epergne holding peonies--

She showed everything they did, including invitations, menus etc.

But those pink china dessert plates!!  They are what grabbed me -- so beautiful.  If I'm remembering right, they were found vintage, and unsigned... but would love to know who made that china.  All she knows is that they are English.

The plates were mixed with both the matching cups, and her other cups and saucers, which I believe were Minton.

The dessert plates were a gorgeous, combination with antique French Luneville china with its own pink ribbon accents--

Strawberry tarts look great on the pink.  I like that the darling vintage cups and saucers were mixed and matched with her other cups..

Chicken with broccoli salad, and watermelon salad, mmm.

I can't imagine, nor would I want to store all the fine and delicate tabletop accents for a spread like this-- but it's fun to look....

I think that any ceramics company that cared to copy those gorgeous pink plates would not regret it.

So pretty and festive!

I especially love the bird plates.

The colors and the beautiful flowers

really add so much.

My mother had a lot of little china cups and plates and now one of my daughters uses them a lot for many things. For her it is a "labor of love," to store and keep and place all these and I love seeing her enjoy and use them, and we get to enjoy them too.

That puts anything I've done to shame. It's absolutely beautiful.

So beautiful.  I have a lot of vintage china and glasswear - handed down from my great-grandmother to my grandmother and mother.  Sadly a lot of it is stored in my garage.

My Mom always set a beautiful table on holidays.

Looks like my mother's Easter table.

FYI............Definition of 'epergne'

an ornamental stand with several separate dishes, trays, etc., used as a table centerpiece for holding fruit, flowers, etc.
