Found one and got it. I am getting such pleasure just looking at it. It's quite old, some small parts are missing, but I got it to just look at and enjoy. I am too.
Anyone else have a spinning wheel? Mine just fits in here perfectly. You can't use it and it's not why I got it. Totally love it!!

Sounds cool! How big is it and where do you have it displayed?
I found an old piano the other day. I do not play and have no room but I really liked it.

flickerbulb, it's about 39" tall and I have it beside the entertainment center, on an angle. I love the wood. We figure late 1800's to early 1900's. I don't know anything about antiques I only know this little piece spoke to me. I enjoy just having and looking at it and wondering about the history of it and the person. It's fun to ponder.

Oh, enjoy it! My aunt had an antique spinning wheel in her den for many years. I'd forgotten about it and wonder whatever happened to it. It was so lovely and really added to her already charming decor.

I have one that's actually 125 or so years old in my greatroom. My house is primitive antiques so it goes quite well. I use lemon oil on it to keep it hydrated.

Yes, mine sat in my parents attic for years. I had it restored and it sits at an angle in our living room. The only time I hide it in a closet is if little kids come over because they want to use the foot pedal to make it spin and I don't want it to get broken.

Isn't it exciting finding something you love? I don't have a spinning wheel, but I know the feeling when you find an unexpected treasure! I was browsing through a local thrift store one day with my son (it's a place known for some unexpected finds), and found an antique Singer treadle sewing machine, for $27.00! I thought they had it priced wrong. The treadle works, and pulls the wheel around, and the needle goes up and down, but I haven't actually tried sewing on it--I just bought it for the memories and for display. I learned to sew and made my first skirt on one of those!
