I love the simple, clean lines of these pieces, especially the chest in the first photo.

I like the bag in the second picture and I sort of like the chest in the first picture, but don't care for either of these rather bland foyers.

I like both!  If space permitted, I would put a small chair next to the chest in the first pic.

The chest you admired is Mission also know as "Arts and Crafts" which came in after the height of Victorian.  There are also homes of the same style.
