Thanksgiving done, I'm indulging in a few Christmas images.  I always find such inspiration in festive English cottages.

This one is 400 years old, not far from Cambridge:

The simplicity is so beguiling.  Lucky family, to have such a snug fairytale cottage for holiday cheer!

I love this. Reminds me of "The Holiday"; same warm homey feeling.

I would love to spend a week there.  The battered lamp shade makes me smile.

@Oznell  There's just something to be said about English Cottage like this.  So warm and cozy and never stuffy.  I love it!

@Oznell

Warm and inviting.  Love the fireplace.

Boy, do those ceilings look low.  Be fine for me, but my husband is 6'2".

I toured Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water, and I couldn't get over how low those ceilings were, but it was spectacular.

Thanks for posting!

I can feel the warmth. Especially that table setting. Just beautiful. For a moment I was transported to a tranquil place. @Oznell
