I have a dyson canister and I absolutely love it. I would never send it back.It seems the OP has been through a lot of vacuums.

What does THAT have to do with anything? Geesh. Lots of folks actually keep multiple vacuums in their homes for various reasons. Add in if there is a business involved.

Personally, I always have 2 vaccums even though I live in a ranch style home. I use my Dyson canister vacuum for cleaning up kitty litter, in the bathroom and for my car. I replaced my old unbelievably heavy Dyson Animal upright that was about 8 years old with a Shark Professional Rotator Lift-away and couldn't be happier.

Re: Dyson DC65 Being Returned

I had the upright Dyson Animal and almost to the DAY the warranty expired, the "clutch" went out on it. Did not buy it from the Q.... tried to reason with the company because this should not have happened to a $600 machine!! They would be happy to fix it if I shipped it to them (at my expense~!)....

So I took it to a local repair that I'd been happy with for years (where we used to live). They repaired the clutch for $170 and it broke again a year or so later! BTW, when I went into this repair shop the owner showed me how many Dysons he had waiting for repair... there had to be 50 standing in a line! I'm not kidding, he told me it was one of the worst vacuums on the market in his opinion, which surprised me. This guy repaired all top of the line, everything, Kirby, Miele, even repaired an old Electrolux (from the 50's) which is still vacuuming ....

Never again will I buy a Dyson anything....

Gotta say, I love my Oreck as well. I do own a Dyson and I really don't like it. Especially trying to use the hand tools with that awful hose, it gets kinked all the time and it is horrible. At the cost of those Dyson's, they should be near perfect. I still use the little cannister Oreck vacuum that I got with the purchase of my Oreck. The Oreck's light weight is also a real plus.

Re: Dyson DC65 Being Returned

Ok ladies..I just got back from Costco and they had the Shark Rotator professional lift away on sale for 169.00. I compared prices on my phone while I was there..most expensive I saw was $329.00...least expensive was $249.00. So a great deal at Costco..Their regular price was $199.00. While I was standing there a gal came up to me and told me how much she loved hers, and she originally had a dyson, but sent it back. She told me the shark far surpassed it. It came with the power pet/stair brush, the multi angle dusting brush, the floor duster, crevice tool, and small dusting brush. So, because Costco has such a great return policy I grabbed it. Course the minute I brought it in, I had to put it together and put it to the test, as I vacuumed before I left. It did a great job!!! Was easy to push, and the amount of dust and dirt it picked up was pretty amazing. I also used it on my kitchen floor, just turned the brush off. Worked great. At the moment the only bad thing I can say about it is that it easily tips over when you are using just the hose and attachments, but I think? I can live with that. I used the lift away on the stairs....loved it and overall it has great suction.

Q4U, I would make sure you are getting this one as it is by far the best yet:

Shark Rotator POWERED Lift Away (Emphasis mine).

Poppin.. are you sure this is the Rotator POWERED Lift Away or is it the Rotator Lift Away as is seen on Costco.com site for $200? These are completely different machines although even the Costco one is far preferable IMHO to the Dyson.
