Duraflame electric stoves

My husband and I have 3 Duraflame stoves and just pulled out the one the other day. We ran it All night, woke up for awhile then fell asleep again. This time when we awakened, there was a Terrible burning odor. We quickly turned it off but could not find anything wrong on the outside of the unit. Any ideas?
