All my drawers are lined with plain white plastic shelf paper.  My kitchen cabinets are a little more elaborate.  Glassware has the cushion liner with holes, some just plastic with flowers.  They all come on rolls.  Thinking back, we use to get scented paper from some store, name escapes me.  The store had beauty items and bath things.

Re: Drawer Liners

[ Edited ]

I only line drawers and cabinets where there's WATER NEARBY...like kitchen and bathrooms...and use Con-Tact®.

I haven't lined drawers or cabinets in years.

I can't imagine not lining shelves.  It protects them from nicks, stains, and water damage plus makes it easy to clean.  For most people, gone are the days of lining with contact paper or shelf liner or the rubbery stuff, although everyone is free to choose what they like of course.

In the Facebook home groups to which I belong, a product like this is what most people use myself included.  You can get similar products at Walmart, Costco, Amazon--really any big box store. Easy to cut to fit, no adhesive to worry about, can be removed at the drop of a dime, and can be easily cleaned.  No worry about damage from water, stains, or the liner itself--especially important to those of us lucky enough to have wooden shelves.

I don't see the need for them or for shelf liners in the kitchen. I've never used them.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@nycalady

In time those tiny little raised dots do come off...found one floating on top of my cup of tea !

With the FL condo, I started off with folded tea towels in the kitchen drawers.  No dots and no noise !

Same here.

However I purchased vinyl trays that fit perfectly in the bottom of my bathroom cabinets.  They come in different colors and there is no need to cut and they are designed and sized to fit standard cabinets.

The way cupboards are now days, there's no need to line them unless you really want to.

Wow! Thank you guys for all the great recommendations!

I went down the rabbit-hole on Amazon reading reviews of drawer liner papers. So many complaints, so many thin and easily ripped. I figured you folks would have some good suggestions.

@Carmie how do you cut the vinyl? A utility knife? That sounds like a great solution.

Again...thanks everyone! Now I have more reading to do on the Amazon reviews.

@AuntMame   I just use scissors, but a utility knife would work too.  The flooring is not very thick.
