With the summer upon us once again, I need to figure out what to do with the living room windows. Our living room faces the backyard which gets the SW sun. Our backyard is heavy treelined and landscaped so it's private and I've never had any window treatments in that room. All of the windows are on one wall. There is an 9 ft tall slider and a bank of windows that are 10 feet wide and slightly taller (5 inches) than the slider, it has a peak window in the center. There is about 5 feet that separates them.
My problem is that it's a lot of windows and it would take a lot of fabric to cover them and I'm not a huge fan of tons of draperies. I can't do a valance because of the different heights. Do any of you have any suggestions?
I've thought about tinting the windows, but I don't like that look. I had someone come in and take a look at them and they thought I should drape the heck out of the windows and gave me a quote of $3000! And thats not going to happen
