Technically...three.
Two "his & hers" computer desks in our computer room (yes, we're dinosaurs and you'll pry my desktop from my dead, cold hands!)
and another delicate, antique pseudo-french piece in our bedroom that I use as a dressing table.

I do now, that is made up from a converted craft area. It's a great area!

Agree that you don't have a lot of square footage for a desk. Would there be room in a corner of your living room? Our den doesn't have a lot in it (desk, bookcase, chair, side table).

Lucky Charm,
Have you considered a secretary, one like this?

We have two.
One is a secretary desk that belonged to my grandparents. It's in the keeping room next to our kitchen.
The second is in our home office. It's a pretty large flat top desk. Our iMac is on it as well as a plug in the wall clunky calculator that I used at my work office for years. I've also got a VOIP phone it that I use for work (I work from home). Oh, and I have a pink lava lamp on it!

My mother had one and when she passed away, I would like to have had it, but my other sister took it. LOL It was carved dark oak and had many cubby holes in it. I loved it.
My desk now is lighter oak and has a hutch. It sits in my living room as my home is pretty small.

I really work best with a desk. I have a big 'V' shaped desk in my office room. But we have a lot of space, so it works out.
We have four bedrooms downstairs and upstairs is a somewhat large room (20x25'), which is my office. My husband has a home office in one of the four bdrms, but he really doesn't use it anymore and it's become the bird's bedroom. He (the husband, not the bird) still has his desk in there, though. Like mine, it's a 'two-wall' desk.
I wouldn't mind getting a new desk, as I've had this one for 13 years, but it would be murder to get this one out and a new one up the stairs, etc.

Our house was built in 1978, so the blueprints list a sewing room, lots of outlets. We use it as a home office. I have a solid oak roll top desk that I bought for DH 30 years ago. I have a lap top and printer on it. My lap top is wire less, but for me I just go in there and use it. Our home computer is just for shopping or just porusing the internet, I use the printer alot for scrapbooking. DH is ann insurance agent and if need be can work here.
We have another oak roll top that was my Mothers , my son will take when he has room.
