Re: Do you have a decorating weakness?

No, because I associate decorations in my house with clutter, and nothing bugs me worse than clutter.   The only thing you see a lot of in my house are pictures of my family.

That's funny because I don't have pictures on my tables and sideboard (the way my sister does),  that seems like clutter to me.  Dust catchers.

My nephew says he always imagines I have a candle and a nice cozy throw in every room. (and I do).

When I had a larger house I loved pretty much everything everyone else has listed-lights,candles, pillows, throws, pretty lamps- but now with only 2 rooms- a living and bedroom, I don't have as much.

My apt has become sort of like a picture gallery of my family esp. my grandson!Heart

I am the first to say it looks a tad, ok, a lot cluttered-but nice clutter!

Re: Do you have a decorating weakness?

At a good place with decorating since I moved into maintenance-provided patio home. Newer, more open, so I gave all my furniture (with a few exceptions) to my son and grandson. They were thrilled. I was more than ready for change. Husband and I both like nature, so there's that element in our decor. We also began using a few mixed metal / wood sculptures for wall decor. I have a huge wall clock that I love. Decor is more interesting now than our former 'safe,' traditional look. I enjoy clean, light, modern, polished casual. Husband enjoys modern farmhouse with darker wood. We compromise and have a balance between the two. Husband is comfy with more clutter around him. I just can't do it anymore. I put up with his cluttery vibe for decades. (Bless his heart, as my Southern Grandma would say) He graciously decided to let go of so much junk and needless stuff when we moved. Thrilled and thankful about that!

A few of my weaknesses are pottery and baskets.  I love to go to craft shows in the hunt for a unique piece of pottery, be it a floor vase or a bowl  and I also love unique baskets.

I set out everything I was given.  That means I have some things that don't match, but I just can't part with them.

Add me to the list for candles, plaids, along with coordinating companion fabrics, throw pillows, and I love hunting for unique thing s that add a cozy charming glow. The more cozier and glowier, the better ! 😊

also, I have two stuffed moose the size of Shetland ponies ...the kind that are made to look so real. Another weakness. 😕

Re: Do you have a decorating weakness?

Dishware and bedding.  I have enough for 15 families and I love it all.  I love tartan, too, but I don’t use it except in the winter and for the holidays.
