I love my house and enjoy spending lots of time there!  I've always surrounded myself at home with the things I like, so it feels enjoyable and a safe haven.

Re: Do you enjoy your home?

I have loved all three of our homes for different reasons!  The first was small and new, and the neighbors were all wonderful.  We had good times there and would gather in front of our house to watch fireworks in the summer.  It was a great beginning.

The second was bigger and in a fabulous location with lots of wildlife and a sonderful view.  I loved the upper deck!  The neighborhood was great and the inside of the house was my taste to a T--beautiful.

A couple of years ago we moved to a bigger house.  The extra space is a great thing and we have places to get away and watch tv, a place for paperwork, places to curl up and read, and a nice back yard.  I don't know too many neighbors really well but we have lots of friends and they know they can hang out at our house, and always come to holiday parties.  SO that is dream come true too.  AND a three car garage.  Who know how wonderful that is for a 2-car family?  LOL!!!!

BUT, we also love to go go go!  And always have so there are times when we aren't home very much and times when we are. The real reason I love all our homes is that the man I married and love is there!  He's why my life is wonderful!  I am truly blessed to have him and I thank God many times a day for him.

I love our home.  It's the second home that I designed and we built.  This house was built to work with our antiques and give us the room we need.   Our lot is totally wooded and on a former golf course.  We have two ponds with a complete ecosystem that look over to a mountain base.  We reared our sons here and our little grandsons love to be here.  All the family holidays are done here and we love to ocasionally grill out with friends.

I absolutely enjoy my home, and feel God planted me in the most perfect place on earth; there is no place I would rather be.

I am totally content to stay home, and pretty much only leave here for medical appointments and groceries.   It is not unusual for me to only leave my house maybe 1-2x a month.   I do not go anywhere unless I HAVE to; I am never bored, and never sit here thinking about somewhere I'd like to go.

Today is very dark and stormy; the power went off 3 hours ago, but I am warm and cozy with a fire in the basement woodstove, my generator is running, and there's still no where else I'd rather be!

uRe: Do you enjoy your home?

I was just thinking about this the other day!  I was sitting in my living room, watching a movie, and looked toward the front window, and really, just really, enjoyed the way it all looked.  The couch, the color on the walls, the sun shining in through the curtains . . .   Love how it all came together, decor wise.  Love my house.

I certainly do. I consider myself a homebody, especially now that I have dogs. Obviously I like to get out and do things, but some weekends I am content staying at home. The only thing I don't enjoy is trying to keep up with yard work in the summer, or knowing that I need to really declutter and organize, which I just don't have the time or energy to do lately.

But otherwise we live in our home and have things the way we want. It is not always ready for unexpected guests, we have dog beds and dog toys all over. But that's how we enjoy our home.

I mean really, wouldn't you want to stay home and look at this all day?

This OP has the very wonderful joy of being a SAHM -- most woman have a job full time, have to take multiple kids to all their events , may also have a parent that needs their attention etc etc.

Not everyone has a life that allows them the pleasure of staying at home "enjoying their home."

We love our home. it is big enough for the two of us and has a nice yard, but not too big to take care of.  My husband has his office that he loves that looks out to the backyard with all his birdfeeders and i have my space. and most important, more than one bathroom!
