Last nght was a bit chaotic in our home. Our driveway alarm went off (we turned it off) and lots of thunder and lightening. Some of our dogs were frightened (we have 5). I thought in all the noise, etc I would not trade places w/anyone.
Interesting side note: our cats didn't care and slept throught it all.

I love my home and the yard around it. But I am not happy with it's location. Years ago when it was built, this area was much different and much more quiet than it is today. My neighborhood has become very noisy with traffic and many more younger people with young children are more common. I guess after all this time of living here and seeing the changes happen along with growing older, I no longer find my home a peaceful place. Would love to move but I can't afford to.
Another thing that bothers me is that my neighborhood borders small businesses that are popping up more and more. This makes for more traffic as their customers travel through on the streets within my neighborhood. They seem to use our streets as their back door entrance.

It's roomy, has enough storage, is easy to clean, updated, and is decorated to our taste.
When the kids were younger and we were running around more to sports and other outside activities, we weren't home as much. That was fine - we enjoyed being out and involved in all those activities. Now we have one in college and another one about to start in the Fall, so we'll be home more. I'm actually looking to downsize in the next few years.
I always hope to live somewhere where I enjoy my home.
Be careful with downsizing to much. What you will find as your kids have babies you will actually need room. We have a normal size 2000 square foot house and you can't even get us all around the table in the kitchen. But I guess that is some way our fault because we always had our dining room where we all could of fit as something else. Like a playroom for the grandkids.
I hope we love our new home we are building.

We have lived here almost five years. In spite of major health concerns, this has been some of the most content time of my life. This house and property is too big for either of us to maintain when one is eventually left behind, and we're at the stage when we must face these things. Until that day comes, though, we continue to thank God daily for the blessing of this home and location. We live surrounded by beauty and security.

I love my home. Right now sitting with my coffee on the porch. Just trees and cows, goats and chickens and pasture to look at. I can't see my neighbors. It is very quite and safe. We don't lock our doors. About 20 cars go down our road a day and a few tractors. A lot of work for 3 seasons bUT worth it. Downfall is no walking to the store to get milk, grocery, drug store and Walmart 25 miniutes away.
After working outside the home I am now retired and enjoy the Pease and quiet.

I like our home. It lets in lots of light which I love. I hate walking into dark dreary homes. I'm home all the time. I would rather be home then out amongst all the numbnuts. All our house needs is a new kitchen. If we don't move when we retire we will gut our kitchen. Our house needs no work on it on the outside or inside. We have fixed things through the years as they need to be. If we sold out house right now the new owners would not have to do a thing unless they wanted different paint or don't like the kitchen.
If you are not going to spend much time in your home why pay the mortgage or rent it costs. Our mortgage has been paid off for several years. Those people need to live in a tiny house if all they do is sleep there.

I love my home and find it difficult to leave it. It is comfortable, a little too big for us, but I enjoy sitting by my fireplace and reading. It isn't perfect, not in walking distance of anything, and needs some work done (wood floor in the kitchen is showing a lot of wear), but it is my home and I do not want to be anywhere else.

I live in a small apartment that is the perfect size for me...I love it here...and spend most all of my time in it...other then the occasional grocery shopping trip or a doctor appointment...

We love our home, too. Nothing's better than coming home from work, changing into comfy clothes, making a nice meal and enjoying our peace and privacy. I would like a smaller home, but I will hate giving up my location that is on a dead end street off of another dead end street...no through traffic here.

There's no where else I'd rather be, but home. I can go for days on end staying home, and with some stores offering curbside grocery pick up, I'm thinking I may even try that.
Im lucky to have a home I love, where it is sunny and warm with a beautiful back yard to see every time I open my kitchen shades.
I remember my Daddy saying that it's a blessing to have a home you love, and if you take care of it, it takes care of you.(:
