Do people think ghat this looks good? I can't imagine!

They are being purchased so the answer to your question is yes

Not in Arizona but we do use artificial turf for obvious reasons because no one in their right mind wants to go out and cut grass when it's 110 outside and it's expensive to water real grass. Those things that they are selling would probably melt or fade in no time out here.

Yes. I currently live in an area that gets up to 117 degrees in the summer and is in the midst of a terrible drought. With watering restrictions - or maybe just due to the extreme weather - my small shrubs died and had to be replaced 3 years in a row.
I bought 3 small faux outdoor shrubs/spheres similar to today's TSV ones, but without flowers on them in spring of 2020. They've been through 2 summers of 117 degree weather, monsoons, high winds, and freezing temps. And they still look Great!
From the sidewalk and closer, it's impossible to tell that they're faux. I'm not using precious water on shrubs for my required landscape, and the yard looks nice.
Even some designer/decorator programs are utilizing faux foliage outdoors.

I have faux flowers on a north facing porch & don't faint now @PhillyGirl23...I think they look great. I also have faux boxwood in planting beds because I live near a 4,500 acre park loaded with deer that cross my property daily & eat live plants to the ground. I don't want to know how much money I've wasted trying to find plants the deer won't eat....my only success is lilacs.

LOL! I guess some people like to and if that's your thing then that's fine. Myself I would never do that, but that's me.
ETA: Of course I don't live in the desert like some of you so I get it.

I have fake geraniums on my patio. I found a place online that sells them. They are expensive as you can't tell they aren't real. I can't use real flowers as the deer eat them . And I wouldn't have the fake flowers if they didn't look real. They aren't plastic either. They last about three seasons.

Seems to me you need to broaden your imagination.
Lots of people use or incorporate faux flowers, including me.

My objection to those spheres is that they're too perfect. Who but a pro could possibly trim them into such perfect balls? I'd like to see something more informal with sprigs sticking out. Leave the phony flowers off.

Deer will devour real flowers especially petunias overnight. Elk will not only eat the flowers; they will destroy the plant. We have some red silk geraniums that we hang on our deck in the mountains for color. They have gone through two summers nicely. We take them into the storage house when we leave in the fall.
Artificial plants are about all we can have. We do not feed the animals or do anything to attract wildlife, but they wander through anyway. Good bye real plants if they happen to find them.
