I agree- I love old windows that have mirrors replacing the glass- but the price of them being sold!! That seems like something I can do myself for a fraction of the cost. Isn't that the point to repurposing as well as recycling?

I know, it's way out there! How do folks think up things like this?

That's pretty impressive!!

That is impressive! I have an old steamer trunk of my parents that I keep my doll collection in. It would make an awesome loveseat if done like that, but I wouldn't know the first way to go about it, and it would cost me a fortune to have it done. Cool idea for those that are creative and skilled. My dad used to do woodworking, he could have helped me before he got sick, but I would still be lost on the upholstery part.

Honestly, if I wanted to go about such a project, I would first experiment on materials that didn't have sentimental value. Practice makes perfect...and I wouldn't want to "practice" on items that are priceless to me. I think my parents' combined knowledge might get me the desired result...but...I'd rather practice on an abandoned piece of luggage, you know? {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

I would never have the courage or patience to take on something like this. I did find two old suitcases that belonged to my grandparents, and one looks a lot like the one on this chair. I didn't get very creative, but I suppose I did repurpose them because I cleaned them up (they had been in a barn) and stacked them on top of an old chifferobe in my bedroom. I'm using them to hold photos and photo albums.

Did any of you ever make small fabric stools out of juice cans?

My one grandmother, the crafty one, made several of these back in the 70s. I remember playing on them when I was very young. Here are pics of one that I still have that belonged to her. I'm not currently using it anywhere, but I kept it thinking I might one day want to recover it and use it.

I also did a search and found a blog where someone gives a tutorial. I don't know this person but wanted to add the link in case someone is curious how to make one:

I have some old windows too. I have lots of stuff just sitting around. I thought about doing a shelf/window box thingy with the old windows I have. Just haven't made it yet. {#emotions_dlg.blush}

I really like all the ideas, but the whitewashed cabinet is something I'd really like to have. I just noticed that you also showed a photo of a wreath made entirely of spindles. I knew I saved those old spindles for something, but never imagined such a use as that!

Also from Pinterest. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I don't have any of my own projects to share photos of at the moment, but hope you enjoy the Pinterest pics.

from tv to dog bed

I love this idea!! My grandma used to have one of those old televisions too. I don't have a dog, but I'd consider making something like this if I did.

The pictures on his wall is what cracks me up! Cute ideas{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Looks like a picture of him with his mom...and the other pic is a sibling, maybe? {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

There are a lot of really great old old suitcases that I have found in flea markets. Because people no longer carry those, you can get them really cheap.

You can take 3, different sizes, different colors, stack them and you have a cute table by a chair.

I know right... LOL! I have plenty of luggage sets I could practice on if I had the time and patience, but we both know how that goes. I have much respect for the crafty and clever types... the rest of us humans just have to pay retail! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I also have one of my grandmother's china cabinets that could use some rehab... that blue/grey paint would look awesome on it. Again, a project for someone that knows what they are doing. I have basic art skills, can do a decent abstract painting, but I don't want to mess it up.

P.S. Mistri... we haven't chatted lately. Hope you are doing okay. Smile
