Re: Do You Do Touchup Painting Regularly?

@Desert Lily et al, how do you match your paint trim colour?  I would like to do some touch ups but that is my stumbling block.  TIA.

Re: Do You Do Touchup Painting Regularly?

I have a history binder that I have been keeping for a very long time.  It ends arguments quickly, lol !

One tab: Paint colors for each room with name and sample.  While Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. can " match " colors from the past....sometimes they are not quite identical !

No, not regularly.  I don't remember the last time we needed to touch up paint.

@Lilysmom1  When I've had my trim or walls painted, I've kept the extra paint and buy a fresh quart every 2 years until I paint the room or trim again. This last time, I had a new home built and the builder gave me extra paint for the walls & trim.

I believe there are touchup kits that you can buy with several basic colors that you can mix until you achieve a good color match. Amazon or a home hardware store would likely have the kits.

@Desert Lily I must make a trip to the paint store.  My house is 18 years old this Fall.  I have managed to get wall paint figured out but not trim.  Who knew there were so many different versions of white?

I did have extra paint from construction but after the paint has been on the walls for 18 years, the paint is either not good anymore or does not match well after sun exposure etc.

This is a good winter project.
