I have only ever had GE dishwashers until we moved last September. They were inexpensive but loud, but wow...everything always came out spotless. Now? This house has a Whirlpool, and it is SO QUIET. You can't hear it running! But that is the only good thing about it.

The racks are configured in such a way that I can't get near the amount of dishes I got into my last GE. And it cleans pitifully. I've read the instruction book cover to cover more than once and watched a gazillion YouTube videos trying to get that darn thing to clean! I use a rinse aid, use a monthly dishwasher cleaner tablet, and clean the filter. Nothing has helped. I have found the best setting to use so use it 99% of the time, but I have to examine every piece of flatware and every dish that comes out of it to make sure that they're clean. My next dishwasher will NOT be a Whirlpool! PS...never have had to have a dishwasher fixed--they have always just been old when they started developing problems so bought a new one.

I own a Whirlpool and it cleans dishes perfectly and can't hear it running.

From neighbors that own a Bosch, they like it until service is needed. Not every repair company will work on them and if calling Bosch for repair it takes many weeks to get someone out.

So -- Whirlpool for me.

I've had every type and brand of dishwasher in my 47 years of marriage. I got a new kitchen 2 years ago and decided to get the drawer type of dishwasher. I have the Fisher Paykel douple drawer style. It is FANTASTIC! The best dishwasher I've ever owned! I highly recommend!

We are on our second Bosch, and we still love them. Supper quiet and they do a great job - even on casserole dishes! They can be a bit pricey but are often on sale!
