I think these are his collecttibles.  I doubt if he's eating in there.  I collect Depression era range shakers, those big square ones.  At one time my bathroom had quite a display.  My friends called it the Salt and Pepper room.

That person must love those collections, and enjoys looking at them while taking a relaxing bath.
