I recently ordered TWO of the new GILI throws by Berkshire (H220414) for $44.98 = $89.96! Fortunately, I got them for the TSV price of $34.98, or $79.96 for the two.
A couple days later, I saw a set of TWO Berkshire throws (H221198) for $34.98 for the set of TWO.
The construction looks exactly the same. The only difference I can see is the print. I'm wondering what the difference is, causing the price to be MORE THAN TWICE what the GILI throws are. I'm NOT happy and it's too late to cancel the first order. Anyone?

@spent2much my guess is because it has the GILI name, that is justification for the additional cost. Paying for the GILI named being attached to it.

The finished sizes are different.
The density & cut of the Gili pile, and the way it will feel to your hand, is different, and no sherpa side.
One is on a "Black Friday" price, with free ship.
(They're very different.)

Yes, the finished sizes are barely different: 55 x 70 as opposed to 60 x 70. I sure HOPE I feel a difference in the GILI pile when I get them. Sherpa - The cheaper one says it's sherpa; the GILI one says it's faux fur. I don't know which would be better, warmer. They are both gifts and I think the recipients would be just as happy with the less expensive ones, but oh well. ![]()

Long term, I'd want to have given the Gili version, which appears to be a shorter and denser nap. That'll hold up to wear and look 'new' longer. Personally, I'd rather receive the higher quality Gili version, and not the cheaper ones.

@x HedgeWell, that makes me feel better. Thanks!

I can't stand that poly sherpa--if that's what it is.

I've had Berkshire blankets for years now and they have held up well. Even with kitties sleeping on them and me forgetting not to put a dryer sheet in ! I love them and could not see spending the money on GILI. Over priced line for sure, IMO.

I have a lot of Berkshire throws, and they are not all made the same, or of the same thickness/quality/size.
I saw the GILI ones, and could tell just by the presentation they are super substantial, much better than anything regular Berkshire being presented this holiday season.
I wanted a GILI one for the thickness, but I really didn't like any of the color/patterns enough to pay the price.

I can't do anything sherpa. I can't stand the chepo look and feel that is out there on the market right now, and it is hot in all kinds of clothing and linens everywhere, ick. It attracts lint and hair and gets matted and just ugh.
I've not seen a real sherpa in ages (actually I guess that would be sheerling, if real??). Didn't really like that back in the day that much either.
