Design a LR from a Blank Slate

Here is a room that I thought that we could design together.

Since this is a fantasy room, there is no budget.  However, the rule is that you cannot change the paint colors or the flooring.

What would you put in this room?  Photos are great, if you can post your finds!

I would put down a beautiful wool rug. Put some cushions on the window seats. The couch and two wing chairs I use would have a pattern that has a little color in it. Then I would look for some nice wood end tables & a coffee table. The end tables would have tiffany style lamps.

I would not want this LR in my house.

Still can’t do pictures but a beautiful piano in the window.  On the shelves books, pictures, small collectible music boxes. A harp on the left. I would line the right side with antique music stands. No curtains. No rug. I would have two big leather chairs facing the piano.

@lolakimono

Ok I'll give this a shot (designer I'm not) . . .

I'm thinking a combo of navy / white furnishings.  Window treatment basic white with a small navy print.  Maybe a mid-dark blue livingroom set & a neutral rug.   I'm not a fan of all the shelving so I'd really need to think that one out.

Anyways, I'm ready for the "nays."   Take your best shots.  Smiley Indifferent

..  just for fun

We are adding it on to your house, so now you need to make it "yours." Cat Happy

Re: Design a LR from a Blank Slate

As much as I'd love a baby grand piano, I'd put it at the opposite end of the windows - sort of free-standing. I'd like a beautiful wool rug in the center with a sofa on the left and 2 comfortable club chairs on the right. One of those bookshelves - the cabinets and countertop would be a bar area, with bottles in the cabinet below. I wouldn't make this room into a terribly formal living room. The light from the windows is beautiful, and I'd want to see  a classic, yet warm and welcome room.

I'm not much of a curtain/drape fan, so I would put plantation shutters on the windows - in white.

Drapes for bay window.

Pretty green plants on windowsill.

Books in bookcases.

Floor lamps near each bookcase.

Table and chairs near bay window.

Beautiful rug on floor with matching sofas facing each other.

Sofa table with candles and flowers.

Grouping of family pictures on wall.
