Have the above color scheme in our guest bathroom. Same color striped bath curtain and light colors mimic washed pine.

Re: Decorating from the Outside In...

Since it's painted all white on the outside (vs. purple and yellow), and the abundance of large windows, I'd like to see light and airy.

Big overstuffed couches done with cabbage roses upholstery.

Not dark and dreary, please!

I think light colored walls with blues and beiges for furniture would be calming. Decor would have touches of black iron pieces and dark cobalt touches. Classic overstuffed couch and armchairs and    walnut tables. I can see pictures of flowers on the walls.

The outside of the house is beautiful!

But, I couldn't bring the style of the outer structure to my indoor decor (like the first pics).  That doesn't look inviting, or livable to me.

I also don't care for white furniture- not practical if you enjoy being home (or having pets).

I enjoy warmth, comfort, & beauty in my furnishings. I think it should invite people in, not make them wonder if they can sit on anything without asking.

I am not a lover of Victorian, but the outside of this particular house is appealing. That is where it ends. We live in our home; I want to create a comfortable vibe, not a funeral parlor look.

I did come across this kitchen the other day and perhaps it could work with the style of this house.  I think is does not lend itself to functionality, but who knows?  Before we moved our neighbors did a kitchen remodel, removing all upper cabinets and had shelving installed so it appeals to some.

My my taste is decidedly Country French.

Perhaps my taste would fit for this house.

could not live with Shabby Chic.
