Decorating a deck without flowers

Can anyone give me some ideas on decorating my small deck but without using flowers? I have allergies so I can't use them but still want my deck to look nice. It's only about 6' x 10' so it's small. Thanks.

I love animals, so at every opportunity, I place garden critters and hang lanterns which can hold flameless candles, also if you like gazing balls, that is another idea.

How about a fairy garden?

A water feature?

Fire feature?

A metal flower garden?

Lay a pretty outdoor rug/mat, make your deck another room of your house!

I would say a pretty rug, some outdoor critters and some candles would be nice. Make sure the candles are unscented so they don't bother your allergies. There are also those hanging lit baskets from Bethlehem Lights that are silk flowers. When i have company and we are going to be outside I always have small fruits out like strawberries, grapes or cherries that people can just take one or many and eat with their fingers.

Strings of lights? I've seen some in the stores that are butterflies or other small critters. How about a great wind chime ? Those pineapple flameless candles that the Q just previewed would look cute.

love the ideas for a colorful outdoor rug and water feature.

Of course a couple of chairs with colorful cushions and pillows and planters with leafy perennials that don't flower, herbs/ tomatoes if you get enough sun, or a big pot of varying succulents, for texture if it's mostly shady. Look for great planters, too. Just look on line, in catalogues or make a trip to your local big box stores for tons of inspiration.

Marsha I love the picture of the fairy garden!

I am a big fan of garden stakes, that you can put in pots of soil around your deck! Stores like Hobby Lobby have flowers, bird houses, cages, etc., to decorate with! Valerie has some flower stakes that have had for a couple years, and I also have the bird stakes! I'll post the pictures for you!
