Re: Decorating Advice Needed: wall color

My new cabinets are white so the carpenter went with  medium blue paint. Looks very pretty with my white cabinets but your cabinets are darker. My floors are a light gray wood-look. Gorgeous!

As another poster said, it depends on what color your floor and counter top is.

Good luck!

@ EastCoastGal
That sounds like a lovely combination. I know I have seen lots of blue in magazines. I picked up a beige this morning that has tad of rose. I am glad you feel like you are getting help. I am disappointed in my cabinet gal and lack of input. I hesitate to say too much until project well along.

Re: Decorating Advice Needed: wall color

Update: put BM Sail Cloth on Wall. Pretty beige and it goes with all but not as rich looking as the greige color. I know I was thinking I needed to go lighter so room not dark but. ... paint store decorator not at all helpful. I think I will be going to Sherwin Williams next week.

My kitchen floor is beige/grey tile-look with walnut cabinetry. I tried a greige but it’s kind of dull against white trim. Any suggestions appreciated.

Federal grey and use pure white on ceiling/crown molding.  The pure white really makes it pop.  Both colors by Sherwin Williams.

@Twins Mom,

Walls:  Valspar (available at Lowes) Smoked Oyster, looks great with white trim and beige/gray tile

Re: Decorating Advice Needed: wall color

I've got dark cabinets and the same colored tile flooring.  Because my home is 70yrs old, the woodwork is varnished - an orangy sort of brown.  So of course, warm-toned colors did not fare well.  I decided to go with the surrounding trees and painted the walls a leafy-green color which goes well with the walnut cabinets and the varnish stain.  It works, too, 'cause I have a large kitchen with lots of natural sunlight coming from the east and south.

Re: Decorating Advice Needed: wall color

Oh, forgot to mention, I painted the ceiling a pale beigy color - BM (like thieir paint the best) think it was like a colonial name.  Anyways, it looks white on the ceiling and is much softer than a stark white and blends well with one of the colors in the ceramic tiles.

There's also a special paint BM offers that really holds up - believe me. it does!

We used Benjamin Moore’s Edgecomb Gray in our new room addition. I love it!
