I just got caught up reading all of your posts and so many of you are on a roll! Is it spring fever? Maybe with Daylight Saving Time just around the corner?
I think I need to hire some kind of shaman to come and do some sage smudging in our house. It wasn't all that long ago I had pneumonia. We went out for brunch on Valentine's Day and my husband came down with a bad cold the very next day. Ok--this is my own fault because I can't stand to NOT sleep with him, so a few days later I got the same. And this thing is hanging on.
But I have tried to start a bit of spring cleaning. A few days ago I cleaned/decluttered everything under the kitchen sink. Then yesterday I moved to the bathroom. The vanity has double doors under the sink and 6 drawers. I decided I would only do one drawer at a time. It made it much more manageable and I did get every drawer emptied washed and reorganize discarding things I no longer wanted. So that was a win--albeit a small one.
Oh and I almost forgot, we have neighbors who just moved to South Carolina. They gave us a cabinet that I have now housed those dreaded art supplies I just keep moving from one piece of furniture to the next.😀

@magicmoodz that's great you now have a place for your art supplies. I spend too much time storing things, and then changing my mind. As an example, I thought about getting rid of our largest piece of luggage. Then I decided it could hold seasonal clothes. Now I decided to empty it. Wasting time and not accomplishing anything.

Just some odds and ends. I’ve slowed down a bit. Have to get some cleaning done. Blech, so boring.
But I’ve freed up enough drawer space to re-organize some of my clothes! That was my main motivation for decluttering, but I’m finding more to declutter in other areas than I thought I had. I still like most of it, but it’s satisfying to free up space.
Donating six more tank tops and two tee shirts.
My mother’s cross stitching. ☹ She gave it to me when she decluttered her house because she didn’t know what to do with it all! I’m keeping a few special ones but letting go of a lot of them. I think she’d be okay with that, but it’s hard because she made them.
I forgot about a few prints stashed away in a drawer. I framed and hung up one and will donate the other two.
A garden book by Phillip Watson who was the Cottage Farm rep on QVC for a while. It’s a pretty book, but I’m going to let it go.
I sadly had to toss a Sago Palm that was a gift. It really hated my low humidity environment and was looking worse and worse even though I tried to take care of it.
Six chair cushions that have seen better days.
More daily planners after I look through and take down what I consider important dates. These and the journals are time-consuming.
I’m also loving hearing the birds again! I had a feral cat in back last year so I couldn’t put out the feeders. Now he’s inside with me, enjoying the life of a pampered house kitty, so the birds are coming back to my yard. Win/win!

I got rid of many, many manuals of appliances...big, small and no longer have. Will have to look through many, many decades of files I have on other topics
Also got rid of medical appointment notes from decades ago. Those documents with personal info i.e. names, medical numbers etc. will be shredded and the rest go in the recycling bin.
Putting the tiny refrigerator on the curb for passersby to pick it up because it still works. Bought a tiny refrigerator that does not need to be defrosted ( ugh).
I am on a mad trip to get rid of what is no longer useful.
It will take me a long time, but I gotta start some where.

@AuntG - I've been known to do that too! Shuffle stuff around from one drawer or room to the next. Just moving stuff, looking for the perfect place for it. It sure is a waste of time.

Everyone is doing so well! I'm so impressed!
I don't know if I mentioned it, but I went thru one of our big file folders on Monday and found a bunch of papers to trash/shred. It was only one of many, but it was one of the bigger ones so it was a start.
Hubby gave a pair of pants to my son to try that are too small for him.
That's all I can think of right now.

Set up the bank of 4 drawers in the kitchen as well as a long deep drawer over another cabinet and wow--does it look nice!! Washed all the organizers for silverware and extra baking/cooking utencils too. Decided to use that run of upper/lower cabinets as my food pantry and baking section. Still have a ways to go in there as with the others areas in this new apartment. Baby steps!!!

I was doing so well in January and then February came along and I stopped...don't know why. I have been reading and appreciate everything you have all suggested.
Now that we're in March I'm back to decluttering...one day at a time.

I'm challenging myself to declutter one thing a day as of March 1.
I'm realizing it's a good idea to start way before a potential move!
Today I popped a small glass vase in my donate bag.
And popped a new pair of jeans in my closet. *shrug* lol

I got my kitchen back together after its remodel. Finally it's done! Lots that will go in the donate pile. Some lovely pieces someone else will enjoy. Just two of us, I don't need ALL these bakeware and serving pieces. I did keep a few seasonal ones.
I shredded a lot this week. I just lost interest in February, and my dad is struggling with some health issues, so that took a lot of my energy the last few weeks.
@amyb I have clothes in two rooms here. Yes, one has lots of basics that I were year round, but saves me doing the clothes switch out every season. And it's a ranch, so it's not hard. After retirement, I just don't need all the work clothes I previously needed. Need to donate some more.
I enjoy reading everyone's updates. Keep at it.
