I had a lot of recipe screen shots that I needed to decide to print them or realistically know I will never make that recipe. LOL.
I think my next project will be the pantry.
Happy New Year, everyone!
@azgal - Oh my goodness, I do that too! I screen shot recipes, things I want to remember, upcoming events, all sorts of stuff, and I have to periodically go thru them and purge. That's another thing I should add to my "to-do" list.

@AuntG wrote:I washed any clothing thing items we got for Christmas. Then we went through DH's closet and threw out two shirts, a bathrobe, jeans, swim trunks, and a tee shirt with holes in it.
@AuntG - I wish I could get my DH to go thru his clothes. Our shared closet isn't big and his half is so stuffed, more so than mine. I know that he has pants he never wears, I found a pair of black pants months ago with a line of dust on them so I know he hasn't worn them in ages. I mentioned it at the time but I haven't said anything since. I jokingly said something the other day about him going thru his dusty pants and he didn't bite.

My son needed some extra hangers the other day so he went thru some of the shirts in his closet. 2 tops went back to DH (they got put in my son's closet by mistake I guess) 2 got set aside for my older son, 2 got set aside to donate and 4 went to the trash. We did have a few extra hangers for him anyway but this freed up 10 for him.
I kind of use hangers like the "container concept". Instead of buying more, when we run out of hangers we know that we have too much and it's time to let something go.
Hubby also tossed a pair of ripped out sleep pants.
It's been months since I've dropped off donations again and I'm getting a good sized pile here. I will have to try to get out in the next few weeks and get those out of here.

Ohhh, I hear ya!
DH has tons of clothes that he hasn't worn or has "grown out of" - But he refuses to donate or toss them.
It drives me bonkers - Clutter gives me anxiety attacks!!!
But luckily, we have separate closets (in separate rooms), so I only have to see his bulging, messy closet when I clean his Man Cave.

mmom - IF you ONLY knew. We had a water leak in the master
bedroom walk-in closet! 😭
Can you IMAGINE emptying a walk in closet that has accumulated "stuff"
for the 24 years we've lived here?
With NO WHERE, to put all the stuff as I removed it. Ugh. (one bedroom is
an office and the other bedroom is "storage". Yes, too much "inventory"
as my husband calls it. 🤣
I donated at least 6 green lawn and leaf bags to a charity. (I lost count)
And threw out 4 or 5 bags of "stuff".
The plumbers have been here. The restoration company came
yesterday and did phase one. The contractor is coming to replace
the drywall. Then I have to hire a painter. (edit: typo)
All y'all - please pray for me. 🤪

@rnmom Would it help your husband if the things he needs to purge would be taken off the hangers and laid on the bed for him to look at and or try on? This works with my husband.
Of course you would be the one going thru the closet and deciding what he might be willing to get rid of but it might spure him try things on.

@LavernLuvsShoes - Ugh, me too! He doesn't seem to understand that the clutter truly does stress me out. He always says "it's not hurting anything".

@Jaynah - Oh my! I am sorry that you have to go thru all of that with your master closet! I hope that it is beautiful, clean and decluttered just the way you want it when everything is said and done.

@Mom2Dogs - This might work. I may have to poke around a bit more in his closet and see what is actually there.
He used to wear dress pants/khakis and button down shirts most every day to work but his new job is more casual and he's getting to wear jeans and pullover shirts a bit more often so the dressier clothes are sitting as he rarely wears dress clothes anymore.
But, he may be hesitant to get rid of them in case his job situation changes even though some of the things have been hanging for a few years.
That is why I want him to make the decisions, I don't want to be blamed for pressuring him into getting rid of his stuff if something changes.
I do appreciate all of the suggestions though, thank you everyone!

When I was bagging up a couple of things to get ready to donate the other day I did notice that hubby had added a baseball hat to the pile, totally unprompted by me. That was nice ![]()
